PSYC 2010 – Developmental Psychology
Many adults nowadays grew up with social media through their adolescence years. It is not uncommon to hear of someone in the public eye getting in trouble for things they posted when they were younger. Given the current “cancel culture”, do you think someone should get in trouble for something they said/did when they were adolescents?
Discuss the relevant PHYSICAL, COGNITIVE, and/or SOCIAL aspects of development during adolescence and ARGUE WHY or WHY NOT an adult should get in trouble, or “cancelled” for something they did when they were adolescents. (To provide some context, imagine the person is now 25 years old and the troubling behavior was made when they were 16).
You should cite and summarize at least THREEE peer-reviewed journal articles in your paper (above and beyond textbook and lecture material). Make sure to discuss how the authors came to their conclusions and how their findings support your advice.
