Choose one of the stories AND corresponding videos to write a reader-response essay. The purpose of a reader response is examining, explaining, and defending your personal reaction to a text.

Your critical reading of a text asks you to explore:
how the interaction of text and reader create meaning;
why you like or dislike the text;
identify the text’s purpose; and
critique the text.

Below are questions to keep in mind while writing your essay:
How do you respond to the work? How do your own experiences and expectations affect your reading and interpretation? What is the work’s original or intended audience? To what extent are you similar to or different from the audience? Do you respond in the same way to the work after more than one reading?
