3D printing is a revolution that builds on chemistry and is further enhanced by the ever-evolving possibilities of digital and machine technology. 3D printing transforms a digital blueprint of an object into a physical end product. The capabilities of 3D printers are evolving rapidly.
1.2 Advantages and disadvantages
The biggest advantage of the technology is clearly that instead of looking at an object on the screen, it becomes possible to quickly create a 3D print so that the mass and proportions can be understood even better. Rapid prototyping is mainly used for the work of architects and engineers, who were previously limited to blueprints. The biggest disadvantage is the extremely high cost of a professional 3D printer.
1.3 Own opinion
Personally, I see a great potential in this technology, which is still in development. Besides the application for professional users, the 3D printer will become interesting for me if it can be used in my own household for a reasonable price.
2 Machine learning
2.1 Description, analysis & impact on the future
Machine learning exists in different perspectives. The three main technologies, which include the key aspects of each perspective, are Cloud Computing (on-demand access to computing resources), big data (generating data in search of knowledge and answers to new challenges) and AI (using data to learn, explain and predict events, processes and trends). Machine learning will become increasingly important in the future.
2.2 Advantages and disadvantages
Many industries, including retail, food, healthcare and medicine, benefit from machine learning by making it possible to work more efficiently. The benefits are almost unlimited. The biggest disadvantage is when a machine becomes too intelligent and the human is no longer in control.
2.3 Own opinion
Machine learning used to be reserved exclusively for universities and research institutes. Today machine learning is increasingly used for normal products. I personally find this development frightening, as my everyday and business life is more and more determined by intelligent programs that learn from data and generalise what has been learned.

Robotics is not a new technology. But in the last decade, robotics has undergone a radical change driven by precision, agility and intelligence. Now and in the future, robotics will be used to redesign business processes, including IT, sales and customer service, and open new frontiers for business innovation.
3.2 Advantages and disadvantages
The range of applications for robots is wide. For example, robots can be used in retail, facility planning, health care, education, the environment or space. Always with the goal of completing a task without error. The disadvantage of robots is the very high purchase price and situations for which the robot has not been configured.
3.3 Own opinion
Robots are more precise, faster, stronger and cheaper than humans, so everything speaks for their use. In order not to lose one’s own job through the use of robots, continuous training is mandatory.
