Details of The Early Childhood Program/Learning Center

Teacher candidates will observe, assess and evaluate an early childhood learning environment. They will evaluate and assess evidences of integrated curriculum. They will collect data and use a rating scale. They will reflect on the strengths and challenges of the learning environment observed. Recommendations will be provided based on areas noted as challenges, i.e. “needing improvements”.

Assign a score of  1 to 5 based on your observation. Be sure to provide qualitative comments in each section so that you can write your reflection. Be objective.
 
Rating Scale: 1 = not observed, evident or present, 2= many aspects need improvement, 3= some aspects improvement, 4= a few aspects that need improvement and 5= all aspects observed are present/exemplary

Part 2: Reflection and Recommendations

Write a reflection of at least 400-500 words that includes plans and DAP activities that teachers and young children should be involved in. Upon reflection describe the strengths and the challenges that you observed in the learning environment. Add a concluding section that describes your impression and five to seven recommendations for improvement. How do you rate this early childhood learning environment? Explain how you arrived at this conclusion. Your work should be authentic and based on your own reflection, ideas and insights.
